    High school is an exciting and challenging time, during which a number of important decisions are made. A successful high school career is a solid basis for future education and career choices.  School Counselors, along with teachers, parents, and community members lend support to students as they navigate high school and beyond. 
    The Role of the School Counselor:  School Counselors work with all students in three domains:  Academic, Emotional/Social, and Career. School Counselors collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community members in order to foster an optimal educational environment.  School Counselors advocate for students by removing barriers to success.
    Your High School Counselor provides: Academic support and planning, post-secondary education information and planning, college and career information and counseling, scholarship and financial aid information, one-on-one parent and/or student conferences, group/peer counseling facilitation, crisis management, transition programs, leadership development, assessment testing and interpretation, resource referrals.
    Services Available: Academic planning, career exploration and planning, goal setting, positive decision making, education in self-understanding, evaluating strengths and weaknesses, transition planning, organization and study skills, test-taking skills, coping strategies, effective social skills, peer relationship management, conflict resolution, problem solving, communication skills, substance abuse education, multicultural/diversity awareness.
    Counseling Services: Individual and small-group counseling, individual/family/school crisis intervention, conflict resolution, peer facilitation, consultation/collaboration, referral to outside support or agencies.
