Statement from Dr. Ken Williams in regards to the Health and Safety Plan

Statement from Dr. Ken Williams in regards to the Health and Safety Plan

Now that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled and struck down the mandate requiring masks to be worn in school buildings, BVASD will revert to its Health and Safety Plan.  The wearing of masks will be recommended, yet optional for students and staff.  The wearing of masks on school buses, however, remains a requirement as this is a federal mandate for all public transportation.  It is also a requirement that any individual who works with or is in the same proximity of students in a pre-kindergarten program (for example, Head Start), must continue to wear a mask.

Although recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DoH), beginning Monday, December 13, 2021, BVASD supports parent choice in whether your child wears or does not wear a mask in school.  Please continue, as you have in the past, to monitor your child for signs and symptoms of COVID19.
